Here are some numbers I missed in the Murray/Rossi poll this morning—they’re about Gov. Chris Gregoire.
From the the latest Rasmussen Reports poll, she’s got 46 percent combined in the approve categories. Who knew?
Tweet2* How would you rate the job Christine Gregoire has been doing as Governor… do you strongly approve, somewhat approve, somewhat disapprove, or strongly disapprove of the job she’s been doing?
21% Strongly approve
25% Somewhat approve
14% Somewhat disapprove
40% Strongly disapprove
1% Not sure
WTF?
having bad numbers is now not bad?
Again” liberal desire to label failure as success.
BTW all this controversy over the DBT basically guarantees Gregoire will lose. She's seriously pissing off the younger, more environmental, base in Seattle as well as voters concerned she would gladly sign a law sticking it to Seattle. All she needs to do is just lose a few points due to this and she can lose the whole election.
And then I guess you'd say that was understandable and not so bad, too, really, let's not be all harsh and expect Democrats to win, or manage the state well or anything like that.
Gregoire's numbers are bad (although barely more positive than negative) in an absolute sense, but good(ish) when compared with our state legislature, Congress, and most politicians in general right now.
It doesn't matter if she ends up gaining or losing popularity, she isn't running for re-election. This is a commonly held assumption that, to me, is confirmed by the fact that she's transitioned several of her staff/advisors/appointees into “safe” departmental/board roles that provide security after she's gone.
I'm guessing she'll make like Ron Sims and escape Washington State's historically tough situation for a cushy federal appointment.
common liberal misconception. two wrongs make a right.
shes a wrong. she will escape getting replaced like the rest of the spend happy self preservationalist incumbents by exiting to DC. A true lifetime politician and good riddence.
