Steinbrueck Update

Last week, I interviewed Susanna Williams, the woman who started the Facebooks page urging Peter Steinbrueck to run for mayor.

At that point, Williams hadn’t heard from Steinbrueck about her campaign to draft him. (And the group only had about 180 members. Now it’s got 400—which, Geez Louise, is a lot more members than the PubliCola Facebooks group* has.)

Over at Slog today, Erica C. Barnett has the news that Steinbrueck sent Williams this note:

Hi Susanna, I’m overwhelmed by the outpouring of people interested in new leadership in the mayor’s office! Well, it’s gotten me thinking… political leadership should always be about change. I am in a listening mode, and I would like to ask ask a simple question of those who are urging me to run. That is:

Besides a new mayor, what three things, “For the Love of Seattle” would people like to see changed?

    Dear Jash,
Sunnana like banana? Susannah like Savannah?
    I’ll spell-check if you buy pizza. =O)

  2. Ian says:

    Damn! No pizza for me.

Seriously though, anyone who hasn’t done the whole Join the Group thing and supported Peter should get off their duff and jump on board. It’s time for a change in Seattle–at least make sure the voters have a choice come August and we’ll all go from there.

ECB covets Robert Mak’s role in a Steinbrueck administration.

@4; that is the most hilarious thing I have heard in a long time. Don’t know how her obligatory juvenile remarks about those whose politics/ideas she doesn’t agree with would qualify her for this position. But the notion certainly explains her unending advocacy of all things peter steinbrueck.

silly remarks are not what this is about, the need for a thoughtful and thought out comment, to help a potential mayorial prospect, make a determination, about a real and needed change and supportive imput is what is being asked for.I would suggest the minimal imput, so far , on this place, does not go anywhere, in any suuportive constructive way . you seattleites better step up to the plate soon and make some real decisions, considering the power of the PEOPLE involved in SEATTLES place, in the WORLD WOW , look at the how minimalistic the imput is, brother David to PETER S,
